Hi, I’m Arvid!

I’m a 25-year-old writer based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

I’ve been creating stories for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I made short films and sketched out wild ideas—anything that let me explore new worlds and tell the stories I saw in my head. Over time, that passion only grew stronger, and I eventually made the choice to fully dedicate myself to storytelling.

My writing is deeply inspired by Nordic history, Norse mythology, and what many call the Viking era. I’m fascinated by this time period—not for its violence, but for the myth, culture, and complex human stories it holds. I use these influences to craft new tales rooted in myth and meaning.

But my curiosity doesn’t stop there. I’m also drawn to fantasy, science fiction, and cyberpunk—genres that allow for deep imagination and reflection on the human condition. I often blend these elements to create unique, layered narratives that explore identity, freedom, and transformation.

If you’re interested in what inspires me, you’ll find in-depth explorations of Norse mythology, history, and my creative process on my blog. It’s a space where I share not just my stories, but the passion and research that fuel them.

I’m currently writing my own book, The Daughter of Thunder. Alongside that, I’m working on a series of short stories—each intended for magazine publication first, then later to be gathered into a collected volume.
